Yes, F2 EcoHull provides protection against osmosis.

The F2 coating is designed to be watertight. It forms a barrier that effectively prevents water from penetrating the hull. It thus makes an important contribution to protecting against osmosis, which is caused by moisture in the laminate.

Recommendation for additional protection

Although F2 already provides protection, for maximum security, we always recommend a classic 2-component epoxy primer as a base coat. This primer ensures a completely dense and robust barrier against osmosis.

Choosing the primer

When choosing a 2-component epoxy primer, there is an important point to consider:

• Ideally, use a solvent-free primer. These primers can be coated directly with F2 Adhesive Coat as soon as they are ready to be overcoated.

• If your primer contains solvents, it must be aired out for several days before you apply F2 Adhesive Coat. To ensure optimal adhesion, you should also lightly sand the surface again after it has aired out.
